RSVP has a dual purpose of engaging persons

and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs and
to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of
the volunteers and the people they serve.
Volunteers decide when, where and how much time they want to share. Volunteers use their lifetime of developed and expert skills to serve clients of over 118 not-for-profit and public agencies. RSVP placed more than 1,600 volunteers who donated about 205,000 hours in 2006.
"It is so great to have the RSVP vans pick up RSVP
volunteers like me, who have no other way to get here to do our
volunteer work," says Ophelia Wesley.
