Pack-a-Bag with Love
What is Pack-a-Bag with Love?
This program provides duffel bags and backpacks filled with age appropriate hygiene and emergency overnight items for children being placed into foster care from Greene County, Missouri. These bags include a toothbrush, toothpaste, diapers/wipes, hair brushes, soap, shampoo, pajamas, blankets, small toys and other items. When children are placed into foster care, they often carry their few belongings in a trash bag. Sometimes children cannot bring any personal belongings with them at all. The Pack-a-Bag with Love bags provide a sense of security, self-worth and warmth during a very traumatic time.
How are bags distributed?
Ambassadors for Children collects donated bags from local churches and community members. When bags are collected, they are distributed to each of the 5 Foster Care offices in Greene County, Missouri. Caseworkers and Child Abuse investigators from those agencies then give the bags directly to children who need them when they are placed into foster care.
Want to Donate Bags?
Due to space limitations, Ambassadors for Children only receives bags that are already filled with items on this list. Once bags are ready, they can be delivered to Ambassadors for Children at 500 West Battlefield, Suite B, Springfield, MO 65807 Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
