Child Care Food Program

Child Care Food Program

Child Care Food Program (CCFP) provides good nutrition for more than 8,500 children in 51 counties.  USDA financial reimbursements to licensed in-home childcare providers for the meals and snacks served allows CCFP to ensure good eating habits that last a lifetime.  Financial support helps keep the cost of childcare lower and provides nutritional training and oversight for over 330 childcare providers.

The Child Care Food Program is essential to keep the cost of childcare lower for working parents.  It is administered through the United States Department of Agriculture and managed and directed by the Missouri Department of Health.  CCFP helps providers serve nutritious meals and snacks to improve the diet of children 12 years of age and younger.  It provides training sessions, newsletters, recipes and meal planning ideas.

What are the Benefits?

For Children
Childcare provider meals must meet USDA nutrition requirements.  Good nutrition leads to better eating principles for children to achieve their full potential in the future.

For Parents
Parents are assured that their children receive high quality meals in order to make childcare affordable for working parents.

For Childcare Providers
Providers can afford to furnish high quality meals to children enrolled in their program without straining other program resources.
